Every new year, thousands of new students start studying at Estonian higher education institutions. Becoming a student is often a big step towards independence for young people. For the first time, one lives completely alone in a new environment, away from parents, old friends and the usual support network. Now, living away, you have to take into account new expenses and keep an eye on your finances - what and how much money is spent the most. Food and household items no longer appear in the cupboard by themselves, you have to take into account the rent of an apartment or a single room and transport options from home to university and back. Of course, a student's life is not without entertaining events and parties and the desire to spend time with friends. This is where the international student card ISIC comes to the rescue, offering cardholders better opportunities to save money with student status, because one thing is certain, every cent counts when you are a student!

It is generally known that with an ISIC card that proves your student status, you can take advantage of many discounts both in Estonia and when traveling abroad, but it is often confusing where to get a good overview of the various offers. A reminder for first-time card applicants when you order a card from the EDUID.EE card issuing system
- Check that you have selected the desired card from the card selection. NB! When ordering a virtual card, a plastic card is not included!
- Make sure the payment went through! You can ensure that the payment goes through if you click "back to the merchant" after making the payment.
- If possible, order a card for yourself at home, so make sure you get the card for sure, even if the rules of national gatherings are changed due to the spread of the coronavirus.
- Make sure that your picture meets the requirements (face in direct view and makes up 70-80% of the height of the photo, the photo must be taken less than three years ago, the minimum dimensions are 307×372 pixels - the recommended photo resolution is at least 300 dpi, the photo must be .JPG format).
