Swedbank will start issuing the popular ISIC MasterCard Student Card from today

From August 28, all students can order an ISIC Mastercard Student Card from Swedbank's internet bank. The card is necessary for many students to prove their student status both in Estonia and abroad, in addition, the card comes with a number of discounts and can also be used as a public transport card for Tallinn and Harju County.

According to Swedbank's retail banking division director Ulla Ilisson, the bank's student customers have been asking the bank for an ISIC card for some time, and now Swedbank is ready to issue this card to those who want it in cooperation with the Federation of Estonian Student Unions. "Young people and students are a very important target group for the bank, and the ISIC MasterCard Student Card will definitely help a convenient bank service for them - a bank card and an international student ticket in one," said Ilisson.

According to Ilisson, you can pay for goods and services online with Swedbank's ISIC card. "This is one additional feature on the card that ordinary debit cards do not provide. The card can be conveniently ordered from the internet bank, and it can be picked up from the Swedbank bank branch chosen by the customer all over Estonia," he noted.

"FESU is pleased that the banks' interest in cooperation prior to the decision to go to the open market made at the beginning of this year has reached a real agreement with Swedbank. ISIC is the number one card proving student status and giving access to many benefits in the world, and the start of cooperation with Swedbank means that ISIC cards with bank card functionality will be even better available for students than before," said Sigrid Västra, chairwoman of the FESU board. "Furthermore, the start of cooperation allows FESU to direct more attention to the development of the card's benefits and usage options."
